Part 1 of 2.
Rachel factually destroys a man whose teachings have essentially been debunked by essentially all national (and even state) psychological associations and associated peer-reviewed assessments.
Part 2 of this video can be seen at the following link:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7SVBd8KcaE
He keeps saying ” … He keeps saying “counseling” and “therapy” but he’s against “curing”. Umm… what is counseling and tharapy but a way to “cure” you “problem”. He doesn’t even sound intelligent in this interview.
i love Rachel … i love Rachel Maddow…i’m firmly against discrimination of any class or group of people…the fact that someone is gay doesnt affect the next person, unless that person has mental hang up about it…if so then get over it dude…
I have been … I have been attracted to other women since I was a child, it was NOT a chioce it is what it is. And I promise you the guy in the video is still gay.
Science has proven … Science has proven over and over, you’re born gay. This guy is fooling himself, if he believes his own shit. I bet someday he gets caught with another man.
“I simply don’t … “I simply don’t understand how people can say being gay is not a choice.”
Easy, because they make the common mistake of confusing orientation with behavior
“how can a gay person . . . say this guy is wrong for doing what he is doing. Isn’t that a bit hypocritical?”
No, not at all: all states have laws against practicing PHYSICAL therapy without certification, but few have the same for MENTAL Still, common sense would suggest that’s not exactly a wise thing, regardless of the subject content.
I simply don’t … I simply don’t understand how people can say being gay is not a choice. This guy, for instance, has chosen to not be gay anymore, so it is his choice. Given that, how can a gay person, who believes in the right to do whatever he wants, say this guy is wrong for doing what he is doing. Isn’t that a bit hypocritical? Apparently, you are free to say whatever you want unless it goes against what they believe? So what’s the difference between what Christians do and what Rachel Maddow does???
I wait for the day … I wait for the day when the world will know the truth about homosexuality. It is not a mental disorder or a disease. But I don’t know any gay who would have chosen to be that way, if they had the chance to choose. I do believe that the change is possible and respect any other opinions about it. Wish you a happy life.
There is no anger … There is no anger in this woman- this guy is trying to cover his after causing such trouble. This tired argument about gay being immoral will never be settled while people use “THE BIBLE” as any kind of source or basis for thinking. Every religion thinks it’s right, and it’s getting old. There is no point in arguing with people with absolutist mentalities: after all, it’s the same kind of mentality that creates terrorists.
@nachogod
I’m well … @nachogod
I’m well aware that leeches are currently used in everything from burn treatment to microsurgery… just as you should be aware that has absolutely nothing to do with what I’m talking about, hence the time taken to specifically mention “19th Century,” when “blood letting” by leeches was a common (destructive) practice.
“The more you know” includes the ability to recognize context….
I agree with your sentiment, but doctors still use leeches in certain circumstances, involving the prevention of blood clotting during surgery or some other reason I can’t remember. It’s amazing stuff, really.
@misfitsruby I’m … @misfitsruby I’m sorry but people who are “Anti Capitalism” need to get a schooling in economics BEFORE they can say anything negative about Capitalism. If you still feel the same way AFTER you have been CORRECTLY schooled about Capitalism, then you must be an ALTRUIST with unrealistic expectations.
Richard Cohen is, … Richard Cohen is, always was, and always will be GAY. So what? The elaborate stunt he? pulled with his mail order bride is not proof of any gender reorientation or whatever he calls his bogus practice.
The fact that Cohen is practicing “psychiatry” without a license or any relevant educational degree shows that his work has no merit and is not recognized by the medical community.
Cohen is as much a healer as Sarah Palin is President Material. Narcissism alone is a poor set of credentials.
Ted Haggart = still … Ted Haggart = still gay
Richard Cohen = still gay
Ricky Martin = always was, and still is gay
Oprah = most likely gay
Michael Jackson = come on!
And SO WHAT!?
Being straight isn’t? normal, just common.
Stop apologizing for being who and what you are. Instead of kissing your oppressors’ butts, tell’em to kiss yours!
Life’s? too short for this senseless witch hunt against fellow? citizens whose only crime is to be hated by ignorant bigots. Stop blaming God for this hate campaign, it’s YOU!
The “founding … The “founding FATHERS” also didn’t want to end slavery nor permit suffrage for women… so it sorta goes to say, that just because a bunch of wealthy white males in the 1700s didn’t approve of something, does not in any way make it “un-American,” particularly seeing that Capitalism has been the core foundation of American economic? prowess for centuries.
Gay people and … Gay people and proponents are angry when they are judged for there immorality. Fearing the main stream will moved back to tolerance from acceptance, in the new awakening in Christ, seeing the errors of acceptance. Feeling conviction, from one who was gay coming out with the TRUTH that being gay is a temptation, a choice and is morally wrong.
@amehos
I must … @amehos
I must say I sort of understand her anger. You can be tolerant when you meet these crazies at first but when you realize that no matter what they will hold on to their erroneous and harmful beliefs about people, it’s difficult to tolerate them.
